Last day in Rome :(
So Sunday was our last day and we got all packed up and left our stuff in storage at the hotel and then got bussed over to the Villa Borghese which is my favorite gallery/museum so far. It has my (new) favorite sculptor and awesome paintings etc. Bernini's my fave if you were wondering. We walked through and looked at some of the more important pieces and they were so wonderful. We mainly featured Caravaggio, Bernini, and a little of Rafael. Then we walked through the very extensive park which reminded me of somewhere in the US. They were normal trees and grass. Then we walked down the Spanish steps and then found some lunch and went through the artisans' works in the Piazza Navona and I found some pretty watercolors of Rome :). Then we went back to the hotel and chilled in the lobby. I was going to get a smoothie from the place next door, but they were closed yet again (they were closed the night before too.) So that was a bummer, but then I just chilled for about 45 minutes until it was time to get a cab to take us to the train station. Then we sat in the station for about 20ish minutes and then got on our train. The train left Rome at 4:30 and we got back into Florence at 6 and then they bussed us back up the hill (we were sooo excited about not walking up the hill!) Then we had dinner and then worship and then a concert by Ivo Krawkoski (which I didn't go into, but I listened to some of it.) I cleaned up, got unpacked, and was able to get skype working again! Rome was awesome - definitely my favorite place I've been so far, but I was glad to be back at the villa.
