4 onsites in one day?!

Today was not a very fun day for me because I was woken up before I was supposed to be up, I didn't feel good all day, and my plans didn't end up working out. But on the upside of things we went to really cool museums and churches and monasteries. I saw like 14 pieces of Michelangelo's work today. The David is soooo epic. I can't even describe it. Also I saw a clay cast of another piece of art that the original is behind scaffolding for something, probably renovation, etc. But I definitely want to go back to the Accademia to look at those some more and go to the exhibit that's there. I think it's Bottacelli, maybe? They also have a small ancient musical instruments room.
After the craziness of going from the Medici chapels, to San Lorenzo church, to San Marco monastery, to the Accademia...we were all ready for a nap or something lol. That's a lot to pack into one day - even according to our onsite teacher/tourguide! So then my friends and I went to some shops and then a market and then to the underground mall thing under the train station. There I decided I was too bad off to continue the rest of the evening with them and I didn't want to drag them down either, so I just came back to the villa. I stopped at the COOP in Florence on the way back though. It was pretty cool, nothing too spectacular though. Grocery stores in Italy are way different than back home that's for sure. I had to scan my receipt for the door to open to let me out! Anyway then I got back and layed down for a bit and did NOT take a nap since it was too late for that. LOL. Then I caught up on talking with everyone and uploaded/edited pics - check facebook maybe tomorrow? Then I did my work for the day here at the villa, not too hard lol.

I don't know tomorrow's schedule for sure yet, but I know that we go to a synagogue tomorrow morning (don't worry, not for worship - they do that on Sabbath). Then they're going to treat us to a kosher lunch. Then I think we have more onsite classes in Florence and then Dr. Burks (Coach Burks' dad and the president of Harding) is coming into town for a visit. We're supposed to get him to make us pancakes :) I think we may have some classes tomorrow, but I don't know for sure yet - I'm about to go check the schedule to see what the plan is.

Love you all!

PS - I got some more souveniers today! I really do hope you all like what I'm getting you...
