Sleep! Oh and classes...(1 day late lol)
Yesterday I got to sleep in and it was glorious!!! I woke up a couple times but just went back to sleep. I didn't get up to get ready until about 11:30. Then we had a great lunch and then had afternoon classes. We had an Italian test which actually went a lot better than I expected :) Then in Humanities we talked about the Uffizi (an art gallery made by the Medici family way back). Then in IES we learned about agriculture in Italy and what all goes into making cheese, wine, and olive oil. Then we took a "field trip" outside to look at our olive trees, rosemary bushes, and then a little ways down our hill to look at the grapevines of our neighbors that the fall groups get to help harvest. Then we watched youtube videos of how they clean them, etc. Very informative...I appreciate it all a lot more now, because it takes a lot of time and effort! Then we had dinner and went to Robbie and Marion's art show at the Club House in Florence. Robbie paints and so does Marion. Marion is a crippled man from church who is sooo precious. He paints by holding the paintbrush between his two misshapen, seemingly unusable hands. His determination and spirit are truly touching. It was a fun, but very crowded experience. The food was pretty good. Then some of us went walking around Florence and found a really cool Kabob place where the people are super fun and nice. Then we came back up to the villa and crashed!
