May 31: Sorrento Free Day
Today was a free day, so Susan and I slept in and let ourselves catch up from yesterday's ridiculous schedule. Then we got some pizza and walked around Sorrento. It was a really pretty little town. There was this epic view of the coast and islands just down the street and there was a really beautiful church around the bend too! Then for supper we got a feast of chips, fruits (epic strawberries and HUGE grapes), and drinks from this market thing we found. Then we watched the antimafia show in Italian - think Law and Order lol. Then we crashed again.

Will you get to go to Pescina, Italy? That is where Cardinal Mazarin was born. I'm currently reading the d'Artagnan Romances (Three Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask) trilogy. He is an important character in at least the second part of the trilogy. He is probably more well known in France than he is in Italy though. He was the Cardinal during the Fronde in France if that rings a bell...
ReplyDeleteThanks for filling in the gaps in time while you were without internet coverage. The catacombs must have been very interesting. Did you end up at the island of Capri as you expected?
ReplyDeleteBub - I don't think we go as a class or anything, I'll look into it though. I'm glad you're reading those books :)
ReplyDeleteDaddy - I didn't make it to Capri, but I don't think it was too big of a loss, per se.
